Deltec

How do you train nurses all over the country on a device that isn't available yet? Virtually!

Deltec was looking for an easy but accurate way to train nurse educators who would be training users on their new Cozmo Insulin pumps. Designed to allow patients to more carefully control their insulin dosing, the new pump contained over 30 various functions and had multiple options for individual programming.

Sometimes, medical devices can be seen as intimidating, so Deltec also needed to put a friendly face forward. By combining video, audio and a fully functional virtual pump on a CDROM, the nurses were guided through each function by friendly pump users and able to practice themselves immediately after viewing each demonstration. Available any time they needed and organized to quickly find the module desired, the CDROM was available before release of the pump itself and prepared the nurses for their first patients.

Besides the pump training, Deltec also needed to get a variety of print material into the hands of the nurses. PDFs of patient forms, certification information, technical information, and a test were also on the disk along with a PowerPoint show for them to use. These extra materials were also organized in easy menus for quick access.
