Why Modular Learning?

Manageable Amounts

Remember the last time you sat through a full day training session? Maybe it was an employee orientation or the new software system and by the end of it you weren't really sure you had learned anything.

In contrast, modular learning succeeds by breaking the content into manageable amounts of information and offering it any time the user is ready for it. So, whether a new employee progresses through the entire series of modules or a longtime employee goes back to review one module, they both can control the pacing and learn at a pace that fits their schedule and needs.

Multiple Learning Styles

Have you ever been in a meeting where the verbal descriptions were just making your head swim and you didn't understand the point until someone sketched a picture? This doesn't happen with Train Engine training. By structuring content to appeal to all learning styles, the retention level is greatly increased.

A visual learner will watch the video demonstration and immediately see the process or concept to be learned, while an audible learner will hear the sound track and a text-based learner will gather information from the bullet points and other text support. Since most of us process information in a combination of these three styles, the multimedia format more effectively and simultaneously reinforces the information.
